Package: vpnc
Version: 0.3.3+SVN20050909-1
Severity: normal

After upgrading to vpnc version 0.3.3, the resolv.conf info is updated
when connecting, no matter what the relevant DNSUpdate option says.

I have resolvconf installed and the DNSUpdate config option set to 'no'.
Executing vpnc gives

 # vpnc
 Restarting mail retrieval agent: fetchmail.
VPNC started in background (pid: 28169)...

and the updated /etc/resolv.conf has the following contents:

 # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by
 # resolvconf(8)
 # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
 domain pleiades.local
 nameserver 127.0.0.1
 search lrz-muenchen.de

Using the command line option `--dns-update No' does not help either.

Calling vpnc-disconnect afterwards reverts resolv.conf to its old state.

 # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by
 # resolvconf(8)
 # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
 domain pleiades.local
 nameserver 127.0.0.1

The appropriate config file /etc/vpnc/default.conf looks like this:

 IPSec gateway 129.187.254.28
 IPSec ID foo
 IPSec secret bar
 Xauth username foouser
 Xauth password barpass
 Target networks 129.187.0.0/16 141.40.0.0/16 141.84.0.0/16 10.0.0.0/8
 DNSUpdate no
