Package: gettext
Version: 0.18.1.1-9
Severity: normal

Hi,

the gettext binary package being Multi-Arch: None prevents the following
essential source packages from being cross compiled:

 - acl
 - attr
 - bash
 - binutils
 - coreutils
 - dpkg
 - e2fsprogs
 - gawk
 - gcc-4.7
 - grep
 - shadow
 - tar
 - texinfo
 - util-linux

There of course exist many more but those are the packages that must be
cross compiled to be able to bootstrap Debian for a new architecture (but
fail to build because of gettext being Multi-Arch: None).

Ubuntu made the gettext package Multi-Arch: allowed with version
0.18.1.1-9ubuntu1 and that seems to work fine wrt cross building.

Please consider marking Debian gettext Multi-Arch: allowed as well.

cheers, josch
