Hi Anne,

Thanks for the backtrace, it shows that the crash occurs in the
library /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtag_c.so.0, which is provided by
the libtagc0 package. I am therefore reassigning the bug to the
correct package.

Unfortunately, In order to actually fix the bug, one needs to know
where in the source code the crash happens. In order to do that, the
backtrace needs to be redone with the debug symbol information of the
libtag library included. This will require to recompile the 'taglib'
package with special options, see
http://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace for details.

Another option would be to provide a way to reproduce the problem.
Does this perhaps happen only with a specific file? Try identifying
the problematic file and attach it to a followup mail to this
bugreport.
