Downloading the same ISO from the mirror gives 40 kb/s average, peaked at 100kb/s once. The same ISO on the machine with the Atheros chip gives over 1Mb/s still.
Oops! I meant bytes, not bits. Sub 100 kilobytes per second on the Ralink, and over 1 megabyte per second on the Atheros, for both kernels.
