This patch makes sure that disks with signatures of one of these

Is this patch applied upstream?
No, it isn't. I have been tasked with getting the debian-installer to
install on imsm (Intel Matrix sataraid) arrays, and this is one of the
things I had to fix - otherwise lvm detects existing LVM arrays three
times, once on the MD RAID1 device and twice on the underlaying disks...
I have also fixed stuff in mdadm (existing but incomplete support for
imsm) and libparted (bugs), and updated several installer udebs. Since I
think it's might be worth it to have support for this in the main debian
release, I thought I'd start by filing bugs against the packages I
updated/fixed. I know it's late in the release cycle, the freeze has
started, so it's very possible I'm too late, but in that case it's
"unstable" material. I have to start somewhere, you know :)
Should I submit this to upstream first? Or are you guys in the habit of
doing that?
Thanks,
Mike.
