Package: deborphan Version: 1.7.28.8 Severity: normal After enabling multi-arch in dpkg (mostly to get wine stuff working), deborphan / orphaner is not working properly.
Instead of displaying just the package name as it would before, it now displays packagename:arch. When orphaner goes to try and remove such a package, it has issues, at least with arch=all packages. apt-get says it cannot find the package name. My best guess is that it is running apt-get remove packagename:arch, and apt- get appears not to like that, at least for arch=all, though if it's doing that for all packages, apt-get is OK with arch=amd64. I would presume that stripping the arch off what's passed to apt-get remove is dangerous, as a package could be orphaned for one arch but not another. Unless this is really a bug with apt-get, I guess orphaner needs to split up the packages to be removed in any pass by architecture and run apt-get once for each arch. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages deborphan depends on: ii libc6 2.13-33 Versions of packages deborphan recommends: ii apt 0.9.7.2 ii dialog 1.1-20120215-2 ii gettext-base 0.18.1.1-9 deborphan suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
