I cannot see why the severity of this bug is "important". The cups and cups-filters packages are intended to put ink or toner on paper so whether the output from them leads to a searchable PDF with extractable text appears immaterial. Wishlist at the most. This isn't a bug in the scheduler so, although it is debatable whether it is a bug in cups-filters either, I'll transfer this report there. Message #197 in Bug #670055 is worth a read.
