i just tried to build newer versions from git sources. i managed to compile 3.4.1 -- it needs libudisks2-dev, though, which is still in experimental. the built version should depend on udisks2; otherwise, palimpsest doesn't show anything at all.
3.5.3 could not be compiled for lack of gtk-3-dev >= 3.5.8
