Well, that's an upstream bug, as the Debian bug shows: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=27208816 So, you would have better chances to see this fixed upstream. But it's really late in Debian release process and I'm not really sure we could even accomodate a new upstream release.
