Yeah, as I wrote, logrotate is something which needs to be checked.

Good to know.
I don't plan to have this feature for wheezy anyway (which will contain
5.8.x) but do that earliest in wheezy+1 where I will update rsyslog to a
more current version, probably 7.x.
