For what it's worth, I'm experiencing the same. After successfully saving one picture (or several incomplete pictures), saving the next complete picture causes segmentation fault. I'm using the same qsstv version as OP on a fully updated wheezy system. Tried unticking autosave, but qsstv still saves the pictures and still segfaults.
