Package: sbackup Version: 0.8-1 sbackup should be able to write to removeable media and this should be the default. The purpose of a backup program is, after all, to put the data somewhere separate from the machine.
sbackup should look through the available hardware on the machine and make its own recommendation about which device to use for backups, and of course allow the user to select another. As a minimum, if the machine has USB, this should include removeable USB devices, and if the machine has a CD- or DVD- writer, it should include these. The architecture should allow additional types of device to be added relatively easily. Ideally it would also make sensible recommendations to the user about whether (for example) to use reuseable or non-reuseable media. (These would have to be regularly reviewed to ensure that they remain correct as media prices change.) I'm reporting this as `normal' rather than `wishlist' because IMO this is an important piece of functionality without which sbackup isn't finished. (FYI: my tests have all been on Ubuntu Breezy. Adam Conrad said I should send my request to the Debian BTS.) Ian. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
