Package: sbackup Version: 0.8-1 Severity: wishlist First of course, sbackup should gain the ability to write to removeable media at all (see my earlier bug).
But, when this is done, it ought to be capable of planning its own schedule so that all the user has to do is physically label the media and present them as requested for backup and restore. If restoring onto a blank system, there should be suitable metadata on the media that will allow sbackup to quickly do a restore given, initially, the `last disk/drive written to' (if the user can remember) or with slightly more faff by searching through the media to try to find the most recent one if the user doesn't know. This will obviously involve some tradeoffs, which the user should perhaps be able to tune. And, of course, if the schedule changes, the system should be able to know what past backups there are, etc. Organising backups is a challenging and critical task which should not be left to the naive user.
