Package: udev Version: 0.070-5 Severity: normal Since hotplug was integrated into udev, there now appears to be no way to control the order in which devices are found. (Previously, you could control module loading order with /etc/modules, but now udev is loaded before module-init-tools, so it may load modules in arbitrary order). This is a problem when, eg, a system has two network cards of different types. There is no way (without writing complex rules), to control which card is eth0 and which is eth1. Udev needs to either process /etc/modules, or find other easy way to allow users to specify which order devices are to be probed for. (If there is a way to do this already, its not clear from the documentation).
