> There's nothing interseting in the x11vnc debug (bellow):

There is one (admittedly hard to notice in all the output):

> ...
> 14/10/2005 11:02:15 No XTEST or DEC-XTRAP protection from XGrabServer.
> 14/10/2005 11:02:15 Deadlock if your window manager calls XGrabServer!!
> 14/10/2005 11:02:15 --------------------------------------------------------

I believe you are seeing this deadlock. Since your display most likely
supports XTEST, this must mean the debian x11vnc 0.7.1-3 was not built
correctly.

I believe it was built by inserting the x11vnc 0.7.3 x11vnc.c file down
into the libvncserver 0.7.1 source tree. Sorry, but that no longer works
(I make a number of changes in the libvncserver source tree specific to
the next x11vnc release).

Since the libvncserver package does not get released as often as x11vnc,
I recommend debian use the x11vnc source tarball from Sourceforge.net
to build the x11vnc .deb package since this will be the most stable and
best tested. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Also, if you use either of these:

        http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/x11vnc-0.7.2.tar.gz
        http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/x11vnc-0.7.3.tar.gz

you should not see the deadlock. If you do please let me know.

Karl
