Package: gnome-boxes
Version: 3.4.3+dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
When installing gnome on this system, you find that gnome-boxes is part of
the standard install of the gnome desktop
If you try and run gnome-boxes you'll find that it has an unfriendly user
interface that fails if the processor it's running on doesn't support
virtualization
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
To run gnome-boxes I navigated to this option in the menu, and tried to
create a box based on an iso downloaded from the internet. But you then just
get an error message that states:

   "Box creation failed"

Researching on the internet, we see that only certain intel processors have
the ability to support hardware virtualization. see:
http://ark.intel.com/Products/VirtualizationTechnology
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   Box creation failed
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Successful creation of the box or failing that an adequate error message.
Seeing as dmesg already polls for KVM and virtualization and seeing as there's
a list of known processors that support this functionality, it should be
possible to catch this error properly and to return a clear error message to
the user.
