Just a thought: did you also update the xulrunner-10.0 package to 10.0.10esr-1? The relevant change might have been in that package rather than in the 'iceweasel' package. Earlier today I had done a full dist-upgrade of Wheezy, so next time I test, if it really doesn't hang any more, maybe I can narrow it down.
