I'm under the same impression. Both symptoms are related to LVM, but are different. My original report relates to the booting of the fai-client. If an LVM-volume is present, then the 'remote boot logic' won't run and instead a local boot is attempted. It is a 'dracut' problem. The other problem triggers _after_ the fai-client has completed the boot process and actually attempts to format the disk.
