Package: netmrg Version: 0.18.2-11 Severity: important Hello
After installing netmrg and telling the debconf frontend to use "root" without password as database user (whis is common if people just want to try out some program), the postinst failed and my database was suddenly inaccessible. As this was reproducible I strongly guess your script tries to first remove the user (succeeded...) and then to recreate it (which failed as root was no longer permitted to connect :)) Please make that script a bit more fool prove :) bye, -christian- -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) (ignored: LC_ALL set to [EMAIL PROTECTED]) Versions of packages netmrg depends on: ii adduser 3.67.2 Add and remove users and groups ii apache [httpd] 1.3.33-8 versatile, high-performance HTTP s ii apache2-mpm-prefork [htt 2.0.54-5 traditional model for Apache2 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.58 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.2-2 GCC support library ii libmysqlclient12 4.0.24-10sarge1 mysql database client library ii libsnmp9 5.2.1.2-4 NET SNMP (Simple Network Managemen ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7g-2 SSL shared libraries ii libstdc++6 4.0.2-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libxml2 2.6.22-1 GNOME XML library ii mysql-client-5.0 [mysql- 5.0.13rc-1 mysql database client binaries ii php4-cgi 4:4.4.0-3 server-side, HTML-embedded scripti ii php4-cli 4:4.4.0-3 command-line interpreter for the p ii php4-mysql 4:4.4.0-3 MySQL module for php4 ii rrdtool 1.2.11-0.4 Time-series data storage and displ ii wwwconfig-common 0.0.44 Debian web auto configuration ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-4 compression library - runtime netmrg recommends no packages. -- debconf information: netmrg/db/user/password/mismatch: * netmrg/company/name: netmrg/db/generation_error: netmrg/db/exists: * netmrg/db/name: netmrg * netmrg/webserver: All netmrg/db/usergen_error: * netmrg/db/admin/name: root * netmrg/db/tablegen_error: * netmrg/db/user/name: root * netmrg/company/link: http:// * netmrg/web/host: * netmrg/configuration/note: * netmrg/db/host: localhost * netmrg/postrm: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
