I don't think that makes too much sense. You don't use a simulation as an eventual outcome of your option. Typically you'd simulate an upload if you want to make sure things are all right and your setup works. Hence, having a a (per-profile) option key to configure the simulation behavior seems quite orthogonal to its use case. A command line switch overriding or defining the behavior might be more useful in such a case. I am thinking of a "degree of simulation" type argument, akin to -vvv for "even more verbose" settings, or our -dd switch.
