Uploads to t-p-u should be built in testing, not unstable:
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/pkgs.html#t-p-u
"Make sure that you've built and tested your package in testing, not in
unstable;"

I tried to do the build in wheezy when I first created the patch (10 days
ago), so it should still build there.

BTW did you ask for pre-approval from the release team for this upload? The
freeze policy requires this for updates that can't go to unstable.
