it just contains one file, /etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/munin-node, can you please 
recreate this and put this into it: (which will cause running the hddtemp 
plugin as root...)

[hddtemp_smartctl]
user root

[hddtemp2]
user root
------end-----

(without the begin+end lines)

After that, do "invoke-rc.d munin-node restart" as root and "hopefully" your 
system will crash again :-)

(You can put "rm /etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/munin-node" into /etc/rc.local to 
have it deleted on reboot...)
