Ok, I looked at the scripts you provided, and run them. After installing the mips system in my environment, I can chroot into the system root and run commands just fine: gandalf:/tmp/bts678029# chroot oa bash I have no name!@gandalf:/# ls -l total 4 drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 1440 Sep 14 21:43 bin drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 40 Jun 17 12:46 boot -rwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 84 Dec 16 18:24 configure.bash drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 460 Dec 16 18:24 dev drwxr-xr-x 30 0 0 920 Sep 14 21:43 etc drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 40 Jun 17 12:46 home drwxr-xr-x 7 0 0 160 Jun 22 18:59 lib lrwxrwxrwx 1 0 0 5 Dec 16 18:22 lib64 -> ./lib drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 40 Jun 17 12:46 mnt drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 40 Jun 17 12:46 proc drwx------ 2 0 0 60 Dec 16 18:26 root drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 40 Nov 16 21:30 run drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 1460 Sep 14 21:43 sbin drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 40 Jun 10 2012 selinux drwxr-xr-x 12 0 0 0 Nov 27 08:10 sys drwxrwxrwt 3 0 0 60 Dec 16 18:24 tmp drwxr-xr-x 9 0 0 180 Jun 22 18:59 usr drwxr-xr-x 11 0 0 220 Nov 16 20:52 var I have no name!@gandalf:/# uname -a Linux gandalf 3.2.0-amd64 #3.2.30 SMP Thu Sep 20 18:50:45 MSK 2012 mips GNU/Linux gandalf:/tmp/bts678029# sh ./trigger mounting done triggering bug 678029 mips unmounting back to normal So it looks like the mips emulation works fine, I don't see any crashes or core dumps.
