These messages are typical for libmtp9 <= 1.1.3-35-g0ece104-4:

I modified /etc/fuse.conf to:

-#user_allow_other
+user_allow_other

I also added myself to the audio, plugdev, fuse groups.
I don't mtp-mount as root, but as myself.

Could you run 'mtp-detect' and check the output?
I'll send output from mine with private mail, shortly.
