Package: wicd
Version: 1.7.0+ds1-5+squeeze3
Severity: normal

When using wicd-client with a Verizon issued wireless router, no IP is
allocated when attempting to connect. The status indicators at the
bottom of the window do make it through connecting to the AP. However
when it tries to get an IP, none is issued and the status message indicates
such. The system logs indicate the same thing, i.e. no DCHPOFFERs to the
repeated DCHPDISCOVERs. Similar behavior if dhcpcd is used. The router
is setup for WEP encryption.

A manual setup with the router does work, e.g.

% iw wlan0 connect wifi-network-name key 0:secretpw
% dhclient -v wlan0

And so there is no networking problem.

This probably is just another data point since I'm just visiting at the
location which illicits this problem. I expect I'll be away from it by
the time a developer gets to this report.
