There is no progress indicator and no error reporting for downloading of enclosed files. This can be extremely frustrating if there is any kind of error.
I fixed this in upstream 1.9 now by removing wget/curl preferences.
Are you able to test the upstream 1.9 version to confirm that this bug is fixed in liferea/1.9?
