So the last lines of ~/.config/autostart/vino-server.desktop are:

This is a copy of the old autostart file

AutostartCondition=GNOME /desktop/gnome/remote_access/enabled

with GConf configuration instead of GSettings.

X-GNOME-Autostart-Phase=Applications
X-GNOME-AutoRestart=true
X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false

… and disabled, usually by gnome-session-properties.

Oh yes, you are probably right!

Is there an problem here?

The problem is that there is no upgrade path for such cases.

I removed the .config/... file, still it does not start. I need to
restart gnome, is that right?

After enabling it in gnome-session-properties, vino server starts.

As for the problem, it would be useful to show an error in my case.

So the only remaining problem is to show an error such as "Please enable vino in gnome-session-properties" when it is disabled in gnome-session-properties.

Also, I do not see the purpose of the ckeckbox in
gnome-session-properties, since anyway there is a checkbox for that in
vino-preferences.
