Hi,

when changing the primary screen e.g. to an external monitor connected at the 
docking station
the cairo dock should move as the gnome panel does.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

     xrandr --output LVDS1 --primary
     xrandr --output VGA1 --primary

   * What was the outcome of this action?

     Nothing

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

     Move of cairo dock to the primary screen as does the gnome panel
