DESCRIPTION should warn that, except for info requesting commands, the
output is not stdout, not a new file, but modifying original file
itself!

Nor is there an option other than -n to give arbitrary new names.
No -o file.
Hmmm, I suppose one could just use -nNEW_NAME.
Well OK, but anyway I'll make plenty of backups first.

$ jhead -n20051014-53.jpg dscn1053.jpg; echo $?
Skipping readonly file 'dscn1053.jpg'
0
I had made it readonly because I didn't trust jhead. And indeed I
thought it wasn't going to write it... P.S., also it didn't return an
error to the shell's $? value.

I see, I should use -n20051014-53 with no .jpg. But still even though
it creates a new file, it insists on renaming the original file.

Never mind. I will just use
$ cp a b
$ jhead b
to not take any chances anymore.

P.S., The 5.7 is not aligned with the rest of the output:
$ jhead dscn1053.jpg ...
Flash used   : No
Focal length :  5.7mm  (35mm equivalent: 34mm)
Exposure time: 0.048 s  (1/21)
