Package: aqemu
Version: 0.8.2-2
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
Attempting to use AQEMU to set up a virtual server, could not make VM
accessible to local network
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
Using Basic view in Networking Settings, set Mode to 'Open a TUN/TAP
interface'; unchecked 'TUN/TAP Script'
* What was the outcome of this action?
On starting VM, got following error:
'Error #1
qemu: -net tap,vlan=1,ifname=tap1,script=no: could not configure /dev/net/tun
(tap1): Operation not permitted qemu: -net tap,vlan=1,ifname=tap1,script=no:
Device 'tap' could not be initialized '
* What outcome did you expect instead?
AQEMU should open a TUN/TAP interface and launch VM
if higher privs are needed for opening network iface then AQEMU should
invoke gksudo or a polkit agent to get them.
