As originally reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1146962 cinnamon's menu editor crashes on Ubuntu Raring. I believe this is due to glib2.0 2.36 and/or pygobject 3.8, both of which are in experimental. I don't actually run cinnamon, but I believe you want to grab https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/commit/76c98681387 which is basically a backport of a similar change the GNOME guys made for alacarte.
