Package: icedove
Version: 10.0.12-1
I recently upgraded from Squeeze to Wheezy with a clean net install from
a Deb image cd. The problem is icedove won't work for me. It selects the
correct mail server with connection security set as NONE, and
authentification method set to ENCRYPTED PASSWORD, checked the password,
and allowed me to create an account. The problem I have is a message of
INCORRECT PASSWORD when I try to access the account.
The version is 10.0.12-1, and the previous icedove version which worked
ok is 3.0.11-1+squeeze15. As a work around I deleted all icedove config
files on Wheezy and reloaded the squeeze version of icedove, recreated
the email accounts, and then let aptitude upgrade to 10.0.12-1 which
then worked ok, the only difference is the mail server settings, with
the authentification method set to ANY SECURE METHOD (DEPRECATED) which
is not an optional authentification method in icedove. The account is as
per my email address above and the web hoster is Fasthosts.
