Ah, I think I see: You had ttf-dejavu from experimental installed, which pulls in fonts-dejavu, which in turn pulls in fonts-dejavu-core and fonts-dejavu-extra, but not the transitional ttf-dejavu-core and ttf-dejavu-extra packages from experimental.
