Dear Fellow Speech-tools maintainers, My test sid image is updated to gcc 4.8 and I have run a build of git master. No build failure in master. The removal last year of esd from speech-tools in git master means the current version builds fine the gcc 4.8. I have done preliminary testing with this build. It seems fine but I would like to make more tests before asking Samuel to sponsor a speech-tools update to close this bug in a few days.
Since this bug accelerates our need to upload master, if anyone has any problems with the current state of master please speak up. The main changes in master since last upload were removal of esd and Sergio's significant work on native ALSA option. with very best regards, Peter
