I suppose you only have a grey screen, right? If it is the case, you are hit by a kernel bug which appears since the (reversed engineered) pwcx part has been removed from the kernel (2.6.11 if I remember correctly). You can have a look at the pwc-modules-* or pwc-sources packages to installed a working driver. The problems only appears with camstream, as it has a support for special functions of this driver.
