Dear Camm, forget to mention that the example [D(p(i),x) for i in 1..] also doesn't work.
Consindering that graphics doesn't work at all and also no user-defined (recursive) functions like factorial maybe you can move it to the "important bug" category? I tried also the binary of "unbuntu64" on Tim's homepage, namely http://axiom.axiom-developer.org/axiom-website/downloads/axiom-ubuntu64-mar2012a-bin.tgz which seems to have the same errors also.
