After filing the bugreport I installed also the other axiom-packages but the
errors remained.
I would consider my machine rather clean:
root@host:~# dpkg -l | grep ^rc
root@host:~# vrms

No non-free or contrib packages installed on host! rms would be proud.
root@host:~# apt-get update ; apt-get upgrade
<snip>
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
root@host:~# debsums -s axiom // same for the other 9 axiom-packages
root@host:~#

So I followed your advice:
* purged all axiom-packages
* purged all open-axiom-packages (who knows?)
* set locale from german to 'LANG=en_US.UTF-8'
* rebooted
* downloaded & installed all 10 axiom-packages again

but the errors remain:
(1) -> draw(x,x=0..1)
 1) ->
   >> System error:
   The assertion tp&~tp on line 180 of sfaslelf.c in function relocate failed

(1) ->

"sfaslef.c" is from gcl, correct?
Is there some "debug"/"trace" so one can see more output?

Thank you very much.

Regards,
Edi
