Package: pypy
Version: 2.0.2+dfsg-1
Severity: wishlist
Dear Stefano,
I just noticed that, if I manually append /usr/share/pyshared to sys.path on
my scripts, they suddenly start working with pypy, because pypy starts
knowing about 3rd party modules.
At the moment, at pure pypy prompt:
,----[ pypy ]
| Python 2.7.3 (2.0.2+dfsg-1, May 24 2013, 09:24:32)
| [PyPy 2.0.2 with GCC 4.7.3] on linux2
| Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
| And now for something completely different: ``correct code doesnt need any
| tests <duck>''
| >>>> import sys; sys.path
| ['', '/usr/lib/pypy/lib_pypy/__extensions__', '/usr/lib/pypy/lib_pypy',
'/usr/lib/pypy/lib-python/2.7', '/usr/lib/pypy/lib-python/2.7/lib-tk',
'/usr/lib/pypy/lib-python/2.7/plat-linux2', '/usr/lib/pypy/dist-packages']
| >>>>
`----
So, is there any known breakage with other modules if we include
/usr/share/pyshared as a path for pypy? If not, then we may, perhaps, want
to have it there and applications may choose to be invoked with pypy, if
they choose so.
Thanks a lot for packaging pypy,
Rogério Brito.
