Please tell me I haven't done anything boneheaded here. I added
sources.list lines for stable/sarge, then did apt-get update &&
aptitude update && aptitude upgrade, which appeared to install a lot
of (90 Mb) sarge stuff.

Now, I've aptitude remove lpr && aptitude -t stable install lpr, and
it's making noises for the first time in a week. However:

     ---------------------------------------------
 (0) infidel root ~_ foomatic-gui &
[1] 20498
(0) infidel root ~_ Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/foomatic-gui", line 786, in on_mfgpage_next
    selob.select_path((row,))
TypeError: could not convert path to a GtkTreePath
Use of uninitialized value in substitution (s///) at
/usr/share/perl5/Foomatic/DB.pm line 3432.
    ---------------------------------------------

It runs though, and appears able again to touch the printer, though no
printout yet. I've cycled lpd but no printing happens. lpr .bashrc
sends CPU usage into high gear (ijsgutenprint.5 replaced ijsgimp-print
or something, but its behaviours remain).
