I'm working on a patch. Seems in prepare_db it adds to $OPTS "-o mysql_read_default_file=/root/.my.cnf", when it should add "-a $adminpassfile". Must be related to $pass_required being set incorrectly, perhaps because $pass_required is set in the postinst script, not in prepare_db, so it isn't set at this point?
