Package: gosa-plugin-dns Version: 2.6.11-3 Severity: important User: [email protected] Usertags: debian-edu
The DNS module of Gosa allow the system administrator to insert invalid DNS host names, which in turn break bind9. See <URL: http://bugs.debian.org/710362 > for the details, where ldap2zone would generate two invalid DNS zones causing named to no longer hand out DNS information. Two exaples are known so far. One was a hostname with underscore in it, the other was a MX entry without the priority number in it. Neither should be allowed by the GUI, and the user trying to enter such illegal values should be told to change them before saving it into LDAP and breaking DNS. -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
