Package: ipmitool
Version: 1.8.12-1
Followup-For: Bug #615049
My appologies for not testing sdr_verbose_mode.patch sooner. I've done so now,
and it
helps but doesn't solve the timeouts.
I've compared the runtimes of all available ipmitool packages in Debian,
with and without this patch. Without the patch the runtime is ~9
minutes, the patched version brings it down to ~3 minutes. This is
still significantly longer than the ~3 seconds it takes with version
1.8.9 from lenny.
Reading the sensors is fast until it tries to query the IPMB:
Sending request to IPMB target @ 0xb1^M
Error reading sensor ECC Corr Err (#01): Timeout^M
Event Type Code : 0x6f^M
OpenIPMI Request Message (1 bytes)^M
01^M
The packages were tested on the same Dell PE1950 system as the original
report. The test results:
Version 1.8.9 (lenny): real 0m3.308s
Version 1.8.11 (squeeze/unpatched): real 9m42.288s
Version 1.8.11 (squeeze/patched): real 3m10.401s
Version 1.8.11 (wheezy/unpatched): real 9m25.828s
Version 1.8.11 (wheezy/patched): real 3m11.228s
Version 1.8.12 (jessie/unpatched): real 9m41.396s
Version 1.8.12 (jessie/patched): real 6m17.545s
Regards,
Bas
