Hi.
After updating my system to the latest qemu, a virtual machine of mine no
longer boots. This is a ubuntu 10.04.4 installation but can be reproduced with
the installer of ubuntu 10.04.4 desktop for i368.
To reproduce:
- Download the ubuntu installer for the desktop version for i368
(http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/)
- run: qemu-system-i386 -cdrom ubuntu-10.04.4-desktop-i386.iso -vga vmware
After a minute or so, qemu segfaults. It looks like it happens right after the
boot splash screen. (with -machine pc,accel=kvm it happens much faster)
Thank you for the bugreport.
You're welcome and thank you for the "-display sdl" workaround. I had no
idea where to start looking for something like this.
Best regards
nautsch
I can reproduce this on two of my machines.
I confirmed this issue on my machine too.
qemu version 1.1.2 from testing does work however.
This is specific to vmware AND gtk. With traditional sdl display
(-display sdl) it does not happen. 1.1.x had only sdl display.
Thanks!
