After 1.10 the zpaq infrastructure changed radically. It was split into library part and client part. Furthermore the extensive manual pages written from scratch for the 1.x would had to be redone for newer releases. It was not possible to merge in changes. The situation is comparable to apache 1.x and 2.x line of development. The Apache 2 is a rewrite and not upgradeable in source level. I suggest that somebody opens a RFP (request for package) for "zpaq-new" that is based on the new infrastructure. The starts from scratch and write all the associated manual pages. When a new package is ready the 1.x version can be made obsolete.
