Thanks for the diff. I'm not sure where the different tarballs have originated from--maybe one was a prerelease test tarball? The definitive release version is the signed distribution/schroot-1.7.0 tag from git://git.debian.org/git/buildd-tools/schroot-dist If you run git archive --prefix=schroot-1.7.0/ distribution/schroot-1.7.0 > schroot-1.7.0.tar this will give you the release tarball. And this should match http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/schroot/schroot_1.7.0.orig.tar.xz exactly.
