The docbook generated documentation does not seems to be valid:
$ xmllint --noout --valid build/manual.xml
build/manual.xml:426: element literal: validity error : Element emphasis is not
declared in literal list of possible children
like <literal>ninja -t targets rule <emphasis>name</emphasis></literal> it print

This may be an issue in asciidoc (8.6.6-1~bpo60+1). Feel free to re-assign.
