This is already known upstream (and quite an ugly issue):

Stupid, untested and possibly non-working workaround is "make clean SWIG="
instead of "make clean" (that is an idea I had just now, so no guarantees).

Uhm. No idea what this is, neither zncconfig.h nor Makefile are part of the
tarball, so how can non-existent files be modified?
