Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
kmail's message list for a large folder keeps returning to the same message,
even though I have selected a different message.

   * What led up to the situation?
Accessing a remote IMAP folder with ~65,000 unread messages.
Select a message in the message list.
Wait overnight, or maybe a few hours.
Currently I have the folder open in a separate tab, though I think I have seen
this when the folder was the only tab.

I am pretty sure that the message it keeps jumping to in the message list was
one I had highlighted awhile (a week or two) ago.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I have to reposition the selection in the message list. Starting and stopping
kmail has not resolved the problem.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
The message list was repositioned to an earlier message.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
The message list would remain positioned as I left it.

Because the folder is large and I am using a threaded view, it is non-trivial
to locate where I was before kmail switched locations.

This seems to happen pretty reliably overnight; I'm not sure exactly how long
it takes. Additional messages would definitely have arrived
at the folder between when I leave it and when I return.

In my current useage the tab with the problem folder is not selected while time
passes.
