The reasoning is: 1) It's not obvious to a casual observer that "su2" is really su^2 meaning SUU meaning "Stanford University Unstructured" (WTF is this last word when it comes to name a software package anyway)? 2) There's a tool named "su" which usage is kind of ubiquitous on systems of the Unix ilk, including Debian.
