Package: multistrap
Version: 2.1.23
Severity: normal
Hi,
my goal was to make a wheezy bootstrap but include one package from
jessie. To tell apt that it should prefer wheezy for everything except
for that one package, I used the aptpreferences configuration variable
and passed a fitting pinning configuration.
As you can see below I use a jessie/sid setup so on my host system I
have in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/02default-release:
APT::Default-Release "testing";
When I run multistrap with the aptpreferences configuration option,
multistrap quits with the following error:
E: The value 'testing' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a release is
not available in the sources
I belief this is because multistrap does not set the
APT::Default-Release option when aptpreferences is used. I therefore
experience the effects of bug#637434 but (since that bug was fixed) only
if I use aptpreferences.
A fix could be if the user could specify the value of
APT::Default-Release himself (or even pass any custom config option to
apt). In that case I would also not need to use aptpreferences anymore
because I could specify wheezy as my APT::Default-Release.
Thanks!
cheers, josch
